“Sometimes the limitation is what makes you find a better way.”
While working with Jalso Production House, I also had the opportunity to work on music videos produced by the team. This Navratri album was one of the projects where I worked across the production as Producer, Cinematographer and Editor.
The project was created around the energy and visual character of Navratri, with the music and performance driving much of the visual direction. Unlike a longer-form documentary or film production, this project had to come together within a much tighter production window.
The biggest challenge was working within the limitations of time and studio space.
With limited time available for production and a relatively restricted shooting environment, there was little room for unnecessary setups or repeated takes. We had to make decisions quickly, from planning the production and camera coverage to finding ways of making the available space work visually.
The challenge was to make the studio feel larger, more energetic and visually varied than it actually was.
As cinematographer, I worked around these limitations through framing, camera movement, composition and coverage. As producer, I was involved in keeping the production moving within the available time. The edit then brought the different performances and shots together into the final music video.

The result was a successful Navratri music video that was able to retain the energy and celebratory character of the album despite the practical limitations of the production.
For me, the project was a valuable experience in working fast without losing visual intention, something that is very different from working on a project where time and resources are more flexible.

I was involved throughout the production, from planning and coordination to shooting and the final edit.
This project was part of my larger body of work with Jalso Production House, where I worked between July 2024 and November 2025 across documentaries, podcasts, music videos and other productions.
Depending on the project, my responsibilities included production, writing, research, cinematography, editing and design. Working across these different formats taught me to move between roles and adapt my approach according to the needs, limitations and pace of each production.
This music video in particular was an opportunity to work in a much faster and more performance-driven format, where decisions had to be made quickly and the available resources had to be used carefully.
